A day after the incident with the three-star mission, Sam patched things up with General Olivia Reeves by offering her a bottle of cider from the city’s northern quarter like the guildmaster had recommended.

When Sam had approached the general in the dining hall and handed her the bottle, both of Olivia’s squad members, Curtis and Brock shared a look.

“Uh oh, looks like someone else has found out about Olivia’s secret weakness for drink.”

The general glared at her two squad mates. “Don’t be spreading rumors about me to the new recruits.”

“Of course not,” said Curtis and Brock at the same time, sharing a look with one another.

Olivia smiled at the drink and then looked to Sam. “Thank you for this, and I know I didn’t say it at the time, but well done with the blue gate. We need more Travelers like you.”

Sam blushed and then returned to his friends.

He had never known Olivia Reeves in his previous timeline, but to be given such a compliment by a renowned Traveler was a great honor.
